Spring 2000 season

← Winter 1999 · Summer 2000 →

136 expeditions, of which 64 put someone on the summit. 285 summits (188 by members, 97 by hired staff) and 6 deaths, among 857 members and 157 hired staff recorded.

Summits count member records: someone who summited twice on one expedition counts once, someone on two expeditions in the season counts twice. Claimed (unrecognised) ascents are excluded and disputed ones included, as in the database's own statistics. Hired staff are only recorded when they went above base camp.

First ascents

Ganesh VI (6908m), May 23 — Japan: Osamu Tanabe, Yasuhiro Hanatani (GAN600101)
Malanphulan (6573m), Apr 28 — USA: Peter Carse, Amy Bullard (MALA00101)
