Route Notes BC on south side of glacier (south of point at 4170 on HMG Survey Dept map) ABC south of Ganesh II end of snow plateau above icefall C2 southeast of Ganesh VI C3 south of C2 at top of rock wall High point at SE Ridge beyond Ganesh VI summit. From Ganesh VI two summiters tried to continue on ridge from Ganesh VI northwest to Ganesh II, but very difficult narrow ridge with cornices and gave up one-third way at about 6700m altitude and returned to BC same day, 23 May, and climb finished. Fixed 3000m rope. 1980 Japanese probably did not reach true summit Ganesh VI, but snow summit south of it by the same route, which they followed after failure from West Face.
