Autumn 1979 season
41 expeditions, of which 15 put someone on the summit. 138 summits (105 by members, 33 by hired staff) and 14 deaths, among 372 members and 50 hired staff recorded.
Summits count member records: someone who summited twice on one expedition counts once, someone on two expeditions in the season counts twice. Claimed (unrecognised) ascents are excluded and disputed ones included, as in the database's own statistics. Hired staff are only recorded when they went above base camp.
