Route Notes BC near lake C1 at NE Spur C2 at junction of NE Spur and North Ridge. 23rd left C2 at 8:00 am, a perfect day and reached top at 4:00 pm and spent one hour there and returned to C2 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm (Grobel and Bardou with one very tired member Chesnel) with head lamps. Had not planned to go to top that day but with no wind and no cloud decided at 2:00 pm at 6800m to carry on up. Fixed 1000m rope from BC to C2 but almost none above C2 (BC to C1 1/3 of route, C1 to C2 all of route). Not very difficult technically: more than Baruntse, less than Ama Dablam. Always some clouds from 8:00 am onwards.
