Went to top from ABC and back to ABC same day. 6th May to top of very easy summit of Pt 6135m (only walking) and back to ABC. 7th May trekked 3 days down Kagi Khola and up Mugu Khola to Nanja Pass and then south to Jumla and out by air and bus to Kathmandu. Will return in autumn 1998 for highest peak of Kanti Himal (6859m on Nepal Govt West Nepal map, but Ohnishi thinks is 6817m); highest peak of Kanti Himal named Kanti? Difficult steep climb as this mountain's East Ridge next year. This trip was primarily to explore, see route and plan next year's climb. |
