Route Notes BC near northeast end of Tilicho Lake Depot at NE Spur (not slept in) C1 at top of NE Spur (normal C2 site). 5 members slept night of 9th in C1 but next morning 2 go down with altitude problems while 3 to summit and leader arrives at C1. One member attempted again on 12th to make summit bid but again altitude sickness and down from C1. Very good snow conditions. No avalanche problem. Before went to Tilicho, trekked around west side of Dhaulagiri & down to Kali Gandaki at Marpha so had 6 nights of acclimatization. 1. Italian Dhaulagiri BC 3700m 2. Stop BC 3900m 3. Normal Dhaulagiri BC 4800m 4-6. Near Dhampus Pass; then 3 nights 2 days rest at Marpha. Left Marpha 4th Oct and slept at 4150m before Mesokantu Pass.
