Route Notes BC northwest of lake, directly north of ridge and below. C2 made on 12th and Sherpas down to get more gear while Italians stayed there. Then snowfall came every day, not heavy snowfall but no incentive for others to go up. On 15th avalanche came, probably at 12:30 pm; small avalanche going slowly down west side of ridge. No contact after 11:30 am, after they had gone up 50-100m to see route with bivouacs, looking at how to get around serac just above C2. Next morning in good weather, those below at BC could see avalanche traces & no tent or activity. 16th search team went up and arrived at 1:30-2:00 pm and found only small piece of tent slightly below campsite: tent probably carried down and buried in 2m of snow. Too dangerous to search more for bodies because continuing avalanching. Route not difficult but very bad rock with falling stones. This direct N Ridge route maybe safer than NE Spur.
Accidents 2 members developed altitude sickness and left BC Sep 10
