Route Notes BC near Tilicho Lake C1 on NE Spur High point at NE Ridge. The team's high point was reached at 12:00 noon on 25 October at 6900m by Bruchez and Peschier with Sherpas Phurwa Gelzen and Danuru. The Sherpas said the snow was too deep: it was nearly knee-deep at 6900m. The Sherpas also said it was too late to continue, although Gex doesn't know why it would have been too late. All the members had left C2 at 6:00 am to proceed up the North Ridge to establish C3. But four members turned back because their feet were cold due to their plastic boots which gave insufficient protection: Audibert and Lafouge stopped at 6500m while Bombeur and Gex continued only to 6600m. The only one of the four to be slightly frostbitten was Gex, whose toes became blue and on 5 November were still numb. All members descended to BC the same day; the pair who went the highest arrived in BC at 3:00 pm. The climb was finished. Fixed rope: 800m from 5600m to C2. Sherpas: Danuru/Dawa Nurbu, 22/11/76 (7/8/2033), Kharikhola, Jubing-1, Solu, Everest X7 Phurwa Gelzen, 3/2/84 (20/10/2040), Pangkoma, Jubing-8, Solu
