| Route Notes | On 28 Oct team left C2 at 7 am. Weather was nice, but windy. Between C1 and C2 trail was broken and rope fixed by Iranian team. They reached C2 at 2 pm and found their tents that had been put in place were destroyed by the wind. As the snow conditions were precarious they decided to abandon expedition. They also spoke to other teams on mountain that also decided to give up. They descended to BC and arrived at 6 pm. Vaginay also told me about an Iranian climber who died around 24 Oct. He must have slipped at about 6800m during the summit push. Sherpas: Tashi Sherpa, Everest X2, apparently he is a singer Tashi Lhakpa Sherpa, Mathilow, Walung, Makalu-5, 18/11/85, Everest X4, Cho Oyu X1, (Everest X3 with South Koreans, Everest X1 with Greeks) |
