Route Notes BC at Nanta Khola C1 north of mountain C2 at pass Mustang Pass. French Mustang to Phu Expedition to Saribung - 12 Oct 2007 The team's approach march was up the Kali Gandaki River to Kagbeni, then north to Lo Monthang, south-southeast to Luri Gompa, south to Nanta Khola and south along Nanta Khola to 5200m on eastern bank of the khola. From their C2 on 2 October all members and two Sherpas, Tashi Temba and Cho Temba, went for the top. They left camp at 7:00 am and were on the summit at 10:00 am in very clear weather. The day's ascent was very easy up more a face than a ridge, a snow slope of not more than 30 degrees with crevasses, where the members rope up; they did not need crampons or ice axes. In their descent, they went down to Mustang Pass, where they had pitched C2. Next day, the 3rd, from there they descended the pass's southeast side (they had ascended its northwest side) and continued southeast to the site of base camps for Bhrikuti climbs. They camped that night here at 5750m, and on the 4th went to Phugaon to spend two nights in the village before leaving the area southward via the Phu Khola. It was altogether "a very pleasant trip." Summit Sherpas: Tashi Temba Lama, 18/5/66 (5/2/2023), Makalu-9, no 8000ers Cho Temba, 5/10/84 (13/5/2041), Makalu-9, no 8000ers
