Route Notes BC at bottom of SE Ridge C1 at bottom of couloir C2 at beginning of very sharp ridge C3 at beginning of steep wall. Route was as same as Japanese 1986 Spring on knife ridge. Had 2 C3s: 6000m on 12 Oct but moved it up to beginning of difficult ice wall. Planned alpine-style ascent from C3. Climbed the wall on 13th, then moved C3 up 100m. Then bad weather with much soft new snow followed on 17th by strong wind which lifted tent at C3; had to descend to BC. From 6400m ridge would have been easy, but wind did not drop. Left BC 19 Oct.
