Route Notes BC 03/10 4600m HPt 15/10 5800m by all members. Trek to Lama Hotel/Langtang/Kyanjin Gompa As the first week of the trip the weather was very bad the team stayed at BC and did a few acclimatization hikes. They waited for better weather as they knew they only had one go on the East Face of Langtang Lirung in Alpine Style. On 08/10 the weather improved and they took some gear to the base of the wall at the Bergschrund at 4950m and checked out the conditions. On 14/10 they started their summit attempt from BC. The route was mixed and about 90 degrees at times. They left BC at 10 pm of 14/19. They reached the Bergschrund at midnight. When they sun hit the E Face (the wall is 2200m high) they started getting hit by rocks and avalanches and spin drifts as it was getting too warm. When they were at about 5800m at 6:30 am, they quickly decided to descend as conditions were too dangerous. They abseiled down and reached the Bergschrund at 10 am. They reached BC at about 1 pm packed up and walked to Kyanjin Gompa [on 15/10]. Oxygen: Not taken, not used
