Route Notes BC on edge of Langtang Glacier C1 on SE Ridge C2 on SE Ridge High piont on SE Ridge. No space for C1 in normal site so put camp higher than normal; biv at around 5400m hoping to make platform for camp but not possible. Then bad weather (snowfall) and down to BC. Another try (they had been on 1st attempt but only to C2). 13 Nov to C2. 14th Nov Sakakibira caught cold and Kitamura to 6300m above to recover his ice axe in good snow and health but "our condition not so good" and Kitamura did not feel strong enough to summit at 4900m and fixed rest of route. Only one experienced Sherpa who could climb this route well and 25 Oct was fired because of too much drinking. Kitamura would like to return but comes in early Sept. Hayashi left expedition on 26 Oct as wasn't interested in climbing any more. Konishi and Kunieda also left on 26th - too difficult. Imai left on 21 Oct after deciding he could not reach summit and was not well acclimatized. So at end of October only 4 members and 1 Sherpa remained; remaining Sherpa inexperienced climber and members not in "good condition."
