Route Notes BC at normal site (same as Japanese and South Korea) C1 at NE Col C2 on NE Ridge C3 on NE Ridge. From C3 down 8th to C1 to rest and to carry up more ropes. Tried to go up from C1 3 more times but impossible because wind and snow slab avalanche danger between C1 and C2 especially at C2. Last attempt to go to C3 on 18 Oct by Georges, De Gabai and Aubertin, but stopped at C2 by snow and avalanche danger. Emphasis on safety as commercial expedition "cost us the summit." Very good relations with Koreans and Japanese after a little while and good co-operation among the 3 teams. 6 Oct C3 reached by Constantin, Faisy, De Gabai, Georges and Grobel.
