Route Notes This expedition actually intended to climb Ardana Peak (6034m), but since it is not on the permitted list, Grobel obtained a permit for nearby Changwatang (6125m). In the event, they did not climb either one. They flew west from Kathmandu 12 May to Nepalgunj and on the 14th flew north to Simikot. They trekked from there to Yangar, then north to Phutkharka, where they established a BC on 20 May at 4350m on the moraine and made their C1 at 5225m on the Ardana Glacier. All members and their two high-altitude workers climbed up to the Ardana Pass at 5580m on 21 May. Hired: Dhan Bahadur Magar, 24/4/86, Wapsa-8, Solu Bishal Rai, 25 years old, Dharan, Sunsari district
