Route Notes BC at normal site C2 at NE Buttress High point at C2. Did not climb Dutch Rib as planned because dangerous crevasses at front of it, so instead went to NE Buttress on left of rib, but unable to climb higher here than C2 at 7250m because very deep (chest deep) snow. So 20 March all down to BC. 23rd up again to ABC and 300m above ABC, where Ngati Sherpa fatal fall into hidden crevasse. 22nd 3 Sherpas from BC to C1 without problem. 22nd night much snow fell, but 23rd nice clear weather so next party set out for C1 also; snow had buried fixed ropes in some places. From ABC Ngati set out first while members changed from shoes to boots and warm clothes; when members finally followed Ngati's footprints found hole where he had fallen 15-20m into hidden crevasse hedged in narrow section. Members were half-hour behind Ngati - pulled body out and to ABC 23rd. 24th to BC with all members and Sherpas in BC - helicopter took body, Ngati's brother Nangle Sherpa, Kang and Go to KTM on 28th. Other members and 2 Sherpas on 27th go BC to C1. 28th C1 to C2. 29th 2:00 am heavy snowfall and cloud/fog so stayed C2. 30th while having breakfast avalanche came and Sherpa's tent covered with men inside while members got outside; members dug out Sherpas (who were OK) and members down to BC same day and climb finished at 10:30 pm arrival BC. C2 reached on 19 March by Go, Kim, Lhakpa Sherpa, Tenji Sherpa, Ang Kami Sherpa, Kami Sherpa, Mingma Dorje Sherpa and Mingma Sherpa. 28 March by Um, Park, Yoo, Shin, Lhakpa and Tenji.
