| Route Notes | BC at end of trail to South Annapurna Glacier High point at South Face. From 23 Sept's C1, Lafaille climbed alone with small tent to 6800m on 11th Oct; on 12th Oct to 7100-7200m & 13th Oct to 7600m, finding difficulties, tired, not well acclimatized & lot of snow, so down to BC; new snow falls. 17th up to C1, stayed 2-1/2 days but impossible to continue with snow & cloud every afternoon; reached 6300m in waist deep snow & down from C1 on 20th; climb finished. Lafaille: "I'm angry to stop at 7600m but it's a game" - fixed rope to C1 climbed entirely alone - "very nice route, not very dangerous, interesting route." |
