Route Notes BC at normal site ABC at normal C1 site C1 at normal C1 site High point at beginning of steep section on north side. Route to C2 to 6400m was being made on 2nd Dec when ice avalanche started from 6000m and hit 3 members and 3 Sherpas at 5800m. Song's head slightly injured (no helmet) and Ha's finger broken requiring operation; Hwang injured in head, shoulder and leg; Ha and Song by helicopter to KTM. Now expected more avalanching and with 3 members and 1 Sherpa, Kazi Tamang also injured (shoulder and leg), plus 3 other members suffering in ABC from altitude, climb finished. "Not difficult without avalanche, maybe it's easy" says Jung and Kim agrees in 2nd day of from BC. Jun fell near Thulobugin on 2nd day of return trek; fell 50m on snow crust and died after 6-1/2 hours (about Dec 6).
