Route Notes Avalanche destroyed C1 on 29th July & repitched 30 July at 5200m. C2 also destroyed by avalanche when Hosoda alone on 12 Aug to C2 but could stay there that night. Afraid more avalanching coming & Oomiya had developed pulmonary edema on way to C2. Hosoda on 13th to BC & climb finished. Kato also got altitude sickness. Kokubo & Taira heard avalanching & not interested in climbing after Kokubo had been to 1st C1 & Taira to new C1. C2 pitched on 10th Aug but not slept in them. Hosoda on 12th only person to sleep in C2. Fixed BC to ABC 200m, bottom of Dutch Rib to 200m, C2 400m.
Accidents Koto & Oomiya altitude sickness; falling stones hit Kokubo but no broken bones
