Route Notes BC at usual site High point at C2. Muller and De la Ferriere were to go up from C2 in summit attempt on day Koreans had fatal accident, so helped Koreans. Cloudy weather set in and very strong winds and morale not right then too had too many people at BC with distractions of film-making and illness; besides had just done Yalung Kang and difficult to do the big mtns so close together. Furthermore there was no snow but bare ice which difficult for 2 persons alpine-style climb. Besides enroute to C1 saw French body and at BC memorials to many dead. Plan was for Muller and De la Ferriere be only area above C2 and they returned to C2 11th Dec, but again very strong wind, cloud and some snow night of 11/12th and down to BC 12th Dec.
Accidents Serac avalanche came down and its wind collapsed BC tents striking fear in those at BC; Pagny had trouble with heart and debated sending for helicopter (probably not related to altitude or climbing)
