Route Notes BC at 1/2 hour below (north of) usual site. Very hard ice, one big serac avalanche came down; it hit no one but face too dangerous to continue climbing on it. Left BC 28th Oct. Prachanda Shrestha, Ministry of Tourism - 2 April 1985 Ministry Letter to Japan Mountaineering Assoc regarding Japanese-Czech 1984 autumn to Annapurna I and Nilgiri South; leader Shunji Takegawa, 1954, Tokyo, editor alpine magazine. Misdeed: one member Yumazaki and Khadka beat a local porter in presence of leader (who did not intervene) on way to BC because porters demand for more wages, but leader denied beating. Letter drawing Association notice: "activities and behavior of this team's members were not satisfactory in their relation with Nepali workers and please request Japanese mountaineers to maintain spirit and good will and understanding."
