| Route Notes | Roman Romancini - 12 Apr 2025 Approach: Trekking to BC BC 23/03 4200m C1 26/03 5200m C2 27/03 5500m C3 05/04 6400m HPt 06/04 6800m by Romancini and Phurba Kusang Sherpa at 6 pm. Climb abandoned on 06/04 due to bad feeling about general circumstances and conditions. Original plan was to have a C4 from where to summit, but only three high camps were established by agency. There was a feeling that everyone was in a rush to finish expedition as quickly as possible and move on to the next peak. Romancini and his Sherpa set off from C3 for the summit on 06/04 at 4 pm. At 6 pm at approximately 6800m, Romancini decided to turn back and abandon his summit push. He was worried about the general conditions on the mountain and the extremely long summit day. He decided to listen to his intuition and was not willing to accept the risks. Back to C3 at 7 or 8 pm. On 07/04 down to BC. He was descending from C2 to C1 and filmed the big avalanche that killed two Sherpas in between C2 and C3. Oxygen: taken and used from C3 to high point and down to C3. Accidents: On the trek out he took a fall and dislocated his finger. |
