Route Notes Pasang Nuru climbed with the team as a full member, not as a hired Sherpa. Yorick and Bertrand formed a climbing team; Marc and Pasang another. Alpine style attempt, no hired, no supplemental oxygen. Marc and Pasang Nuru reached highpoint on 09/04. They slept in a snowcave at 5700m. They realized conditions were too dangerous and didn’t want to cross the dangerous ‘Guillotine Gully’. Yorick started summit push from C3 on 16/04 at 1 am, reached highpoint at around 7400m at 6:30 am. He was feeling tired and felt it was too hard to continue all alone. Not motivated enough, and decided to turn back. Bertrand had turned back before at 6300m because he fell sick with pulmonary infection. All down to BC on 16/04. Other people in BC said the weather would deteriorate and they didn’t have much time left. So decision was made to abandon climb. Whole team is very disillusioned and sad about the current development on 8000ers like Annapurna, with the crowds and increasing helicopter support above BC.
