Route Notes From Kurik's blog (http://lineblog.me/kuriki/) Ap 13 - Arrived in Annapurna South BC (4100m) by helicopter. Ap 17 - Attempted Singu Chuli (6501m) for acclimatization; stopped short of summit due to heavy crevassing. Ap 18 - Flew to Chuli West (6419m) by helicopter for further acclimatization. Ap 21 - Summited Chuli West. Ap 22 - Returned to Annapurna South BC by helicopter. Apr 23 to May 1 - Period of bad weather May 02 - Moved up to ABC at 5010m. May 04 - Climbed up the south wall to 6290m. May 05 - Descended back to ABC, then to back to BC. May 10 - Started up south wall from ABC at 3:40 am, arrived at 6290m at 10:15 am. Planned to spend day at 6290m, then climb to 7000m the next day. But suffered leg injury from falling ice during the climb to 6290m. May 11 - Kuriki returned to ABC due to swelling and pain from leg injury. May 12 - Returned to BC. From Kuriki's Facebook page: 11 May 2016 Today I was going to climb over 7000m, but a block of ice fell on my left knee yesterday while climbing, and I couldn't have my full strength to climb the south face before time limit of good weather. Weather forecast said that it would be surrounded by clouds by 9-10am, and with my injured knee, I wouldn't be able to climb by the time, which will risk life. Therefore, I decided to descend from here at 6290m. 10 May 2016 Kuriki departed advance base camp at 3:40 am and started climbing the south face at 6:00 am today. At 10:15 am (Nepali time), Kuriki reached 6290m and pitched his tent for today. The first 3 photos were taken at 6 am, second 3 photos were at 9 am, and the last 3 were at 10:15 when he got to 6290m. All the photos were taken from the base camp of Annapurna. 9 May 2016 I will leave the advanced base camp at 3 am on 10th. I'm getting ready for the departure now. After I start climbing, my account can only show you pictures of me like a small dot in the mountain, but I want to share my adventure with you. When I climbed up to 6190m on 4th May, I realized that not only physical strength are necessary, but also it burns out psychologically. I really need to focus all my energy.
