| Route Notes | BC 28/03 4100m C1 01/04 5400m C2 02/04 5700m C3 22/04 6400m C4 23/04 7000m HPt 23/04 7000m by Barber. Barber reached the high point during his acclimatization trip. He was at BC when the earthquake occurred. It was foggy and he could not really see the avalanches around him, but heard them. When he realized that it was a bad earthquake, he abandoned expedition to do some volunteering work in Nepal. He flew to Gorkha on 30 April and did some relief work until 10 May. On 11 May he returned to Kathmandu. [Barber shared Seven Summit Treks base camp facilities, but climbed on his own without Sherpas or oxygen.] |
