Route Notes When Lakpa and Burke reached their high point, they were on their acclimatization trip and descended to BC on 24 March. They were at BC when the earthquake hit [on 25 April]. They definitely felt a shake, however, nothing major and no injuries. Burke by email: After the earthquake, we waited a few days and considered whether we would go back up the mountain. We considered trying to arrange to get more supplies and more oxygen, but after the scale of the earthquake devastation in other parts of Nepal became evident and learning it would not be possible to fly in new supplies (as helicopters were naturally required elsewhere) we had to abandon any plans to return for another summit push. Rope fixing: Team helped with ropes between C2 and C3. Dreamer's Destinations were at the mountain earlier than them and apparently fixed to C2. When they arrived, they were aiming to fix to C3 in 1.5 days. By Day 3 they were a long way off, so Lakpa went up to help and he led about 250m. The ropes were fixed to C3 by Day 4 of attempts.
