Weather was clear, but very cold. There was knee-deep snow. He was the last of the group who had also left that morning. Eross felt very tired and not properly acclimatized, so he decided to turn back at 7500m at 3 am. He decended to C5, where he had a rest and continued to C3, where he arrived at 4 pm. The following day he descended to BC. Mecs reached C2 on 26 April. It was on his second acclimatization rotation, however, he decided not to join summit attempt as he did not feel acclimatized well enough. Horvath joined Eross to attempt the summit (they left BC on 1 May). He reached C4 on 4 May and on 5 May he decided to abandon summit attempt as he was too tired and did not feel strong enough. He left C4 at 8 am on 5 May. He called the base camp manager from C3 at 4 pm to tell him that he was going to continue all the way to BC. That was the last time they heard from him before he disappeared. His teammates think that he was swept away by an avalanche in the gully between C2 and C3. Mecs tried to go up from BC to look for Horvath, but there was too much snow, so he did not get there. A search would have been impossible. When Eross descended to BC on 7 May from his summit attempt, he looked for Horvath, but could not find any traces. On 9 May the team left by helicopter. Oxygen: Not taken, not used.
