| Route Notes | Kim and Seo started their summit bid from C3 at 00:30 hours on 26 April in a clear sky and no wind; about 10 am it became cloudy. Kim and Seo got to the top at 13:45 hours and stayed on summit for about 25 minutes. They returned to C3 at 18:00 hours. After summit around 16:00 hours started snow shower and white-out. Other climbers on summit were Kim Jae-Soo and his parter with one Sherpa, Abele Blanc with his two Sherpas. Earlier the Kim team tried to open new route going straight to the wall. The team of Busan, Kim and Seo together with Kim Jae-Soo team went up to 6300m on 31 March. The route was full of seracs which were frequently falling down. There was danger of serac fall so they gave up that way and switched to normal route. Fixed rope: 2500m BC - to summit. |
