Route Notes BC at north side of Sama Glacier C1 on SW Ridge of Singu Chuli (Fluted Peak) High point at South Face of Singu Chuli. Very bad weather: raining many days in last half of Sept, so C1 occupied only on 29 Sept. Put deposit at 6100m but never slept higher than C1, went only to deposit about 150m higher. Fixed deposit 5100m (300m) and on ridge (500m). Deep snow below C1 and above as deep as chest height. Last attempt to reach East Ridge made by Blanc and Kuntner; they again reached only 6150m on 13 Oct and gave up. Down to BC same day and climb finished. Pauner and Merelli - 23/Oct Pauner left BC 13 Oct to make bid for top and arrived at 6150m and on to 6300m (below C2) having crossed traverse but could go no higher because sugar snow and small avalanches coming toward them (not hit); probably snow conditions above same, so down to BC at night of 13th Oct; so abandoned their climb.
