Route Notes BC as same site as Indians and UK C2 at top of rib/ridge to left of Dutch Rib (same as Spanish 1974 to this point). 3 May C3 slept in by Oh Hea-Joon, Serap Jangbu, Jagat Tamang and Lhakpa Tshering (Tshiri). 4th May Jagat, Lhakpa, Serap and Oh left C3 12:00 midnight of 3/4 May; Jagat turned back about 7800m (getting cold) while other three on to top at 10:00 am in clear sky and little wind only but very cold - slept again in C3 and climb finished. Had tried for top 3 times before: 20 April to 6800m by leader, Oh Dong-Jin, 4 Sherpas; 25 April only to C2 but too much wind and snowfall (on 20th also) for Oh Kyeong-Hun, Oh Hee-Joon and Oh Dong-Jin. 29 April only to C1, snow and wind stopped another bid by Oh Dong-Jin and 4 Sherpas. Kim left expedition 6 April to return to Korea. Fixed rope to ABC twice: 1st time 1000m through icefall and here Hyun and Oh Dong-Geun hurt by ice falling on them (no broken bones) and made route around to left of icefall area on rock where fixed 600m. Fixed more ropes ABC->C1 500m; C1->C2, 1600m; C2->C3 700m, C3 to top 600m; all ropes fixed by Koreans and Indians together. Avalanche broke a tent at C2 on 30 April, but none other - no other avalanche problems. Summit Sherpas: Serap Jangbu, 25/7/69, Khumjung, already summited Lhakpa Tshering, about 28 yrs, Khumjung, Everest X1 (25/5/01)
Accidents Oh Dong-Geun and Hyun injured going to ABC and to C1 only
