Route Notes From 14 Peaks Facebook page: A heartfelt congratulations to our very own Ngima Tashi Sherpa and Fura Tshering Sherpa for making the first-ever ascent of Yasa Thak (6151m)-a newly opened peak by the Department of Tourism, Nepal! Yasa Thak stands proudly as the southeastern shoulder of Tengi Ragi Tau, nestled north of the Ngole Porter Shelter, south of the serene Dog Tsho Lake, and east of the Tashi (Tesi) Tapcha Pass. They followed the route from Namche-Thame-Thangbo- Base Camp on the southeast side and climbed to the summit via the East Ridge. The brothers from Thame, Nepal, both senior mountain guides at 14 Peaks Expedition, set out on an ambitious journey via the southeast approach, establishing base camp and pioneering their ascent along the east ridge. According to GPS data recorded by Fura Tshering Sherpa, the summit altitude stands at 6151m. With this historic climb, they have etched their names in mountaineering history and further elevated the legacy of the Sherpa community.
