Route Notes BC 24/10 5400m Biv 28/10 5800m Smt 29/10 by Gregoire Lestienne, Floriane Pugin (S Face of Yanme Kang) HPt 30/10 5300m (E Face of Lung Chung Kang) HPt 02/11 5700m (Senup) Not a great alpine trip, as there are not many tough alpine goals there, but a beautiful area. Some local even told them to have never seen a mountaineer around. First ascent of Yanme Kang, South Face (GPS altitude is lower: 6220m instead of 6244m on the map). 28 October: bivouac at 5800m. 29 October: summit, back to BC on that day. Similar to a "Dome du Goûter" in Mont Blanc range. No objective risk. Otherwise all the western flank of the Lung Chung Kang is very prone to objective risk, with huge overhanging seracs bareers. Access from there would be like PD+, AD-. 30 October: attempted Lung Chung Kang (6475m), the nice pyramid lying just nearby south, via its eastern face (Tibetan side). As a straight western glacier access to it was too much prone to objective risks, the two accessed the peak's Tibetan side via the West Face of Nangamari I footstep. They reached 5300m in the face, then were stopped by the weather conditions, as it first begun to snow. But 2 hours later good weather was back! Had climbed 500m on the East Face (ice flutes, 55-60°, AD/AD+). Had reckoned the face with a drone. They couldn't ever see the West Face of the peak, sitting always in the clouds. 2nd November: from Pabuktar, climbed up on a buttress/subsidiary peak of Mont Senup (6265m on Nepa map), using a 400m technical mixed and ice gully line exiting at 5700m, called "Les brasseurs savoyacks" (Difficult/M3/75°). Team left BC on 30 October. Oxygen: Not taken, not used Other peaks: Lung Chung Kang, Mont Senup forepeak Note: this team likely climbed the 6244m peak northwest of the 6206m peak that Ministry calls Yanme Kang.
