| Route Notes | BC in Hidden Valley Biv on ridge running north-northeast of point 5087m. Expedition sponsored by Belgian Clinical especially to test altitude medication - hence fast. Made BC in Hidden Valley because deep snow in French Pass. On 27th left biv early (3:00 am) for summit. Climbed southwards along ridge then on along NW Ridge of Tukuche and 50m out on to N Face. Stopped at point on NW Ridge past junction of ridge from point 6839m where would have to fix rope, but fixing would take too much of time when saw snowstorm coming. Stopped at 11:20 am and turned back and returned to BC at 5:00 pm and climb finished. Had been big physical effort for 5 days and now no time for any 2nd bid. In good weather and good condition, it is possible to climb in one day. Showed by this climb intended result: possible for near professional with 6 months training to climb high without oxygen. |
| Accidents | Boutianaud headache and stayed on BC to avoid altitude sickness |
