Route Notes On 12 October Sete Tamang and Pasang Tamang left climbing gear and tents at 5800m. The evening of 13 October around 8 pm storm started picking up and 14 October whole day snowing. Five French and one Australian trekkers were given shelter in the BC (they were heli-lifted on 16 October). Expedition member Monica [Aschei] left expedition on 13 October. Rest of the team left BC to Pokhara by heli on 17 October. They thought to go back, but due to bad weather conditions, they decided to abandon the expedition. Hired: Sete Tamang, 30/3/1970, Gorakhani-8 Pasang Tamang, Tapting-8 From Montagna.tv website: Italians Stranded in the Himalayas, Adriano Favre: Wait for the helicopter October 16, 2014-10:01 Author: Valentina d'Angella Four Italians are stuck in the Annapurna area of Nepal. They are Adriano Favre, head of the Valle d'Aosta mountain rescue, his son [Yannick], and two others. The four are fine, and have enough food for ten days and await for a helicopter to be rescued since there is too much snow on the ground. "We had a snowstorm of exceptional intensity, it snowed for 30 hours". According to what reported today by Ansa, the 4 Italians are going to Tukuche Peak, a peak of almost 7000 meters between the Annapurna massif and Dhaulagiri. Their base camp is about 5000 meters. Precipitation in the districts of Mustang and Manang began Monday, and continued until Wednesday: hundreds of tourists these days are in the area, in particular in the Annapurna Circuit, which is one of the preferred destinations for trekking in Nepal.
