Route Notes C1 on NW Ridge C2 on NW Ridge High point on NW Ridge. Tukuche Peak Expedition led by Francois Remond - 29 October 2008 On 16 October, while the members waited in C2, two of their "Sherpas" who were fixing rope above C2, stopped at 6400m because of cornices and ice covering the ridge, and because there was very cold strong wind. They were Shree Lal Gurung and Pur Bahadur Gurung. They went back to C2. 6400m was the team's high point. On the 17th the whole team descended to BC and decided to abandon the climb because of dangerous conditions above C2 and strong wind. Their cook, Som Bahadur Tamang, 50 years old from Solukhumbu, badly burned his foot when he spilled boiling water. About 20 meters from their tent was a skeleton lying on its side which they were told was that of someone who had died about three years ago.
