Campsites BC(04/10,4800m),C1(06/10,5500m),xxx(11/10,6386m)
Route Notes BC southwest of Tashi Kang and Tsartse in Hidden Valley C1 near lake south of Sandacche Himal on Sandachhe Glacier. From Jomsom did recce up Syam Khola northwest and camped at 5400m near khola on 28th Sept and decided not possible to climb mountain this side because rock bottom. 29th to Jomsom and 30th south to Marpha and then on 1st Oct camped at foot of Thapa Peak from Thapa Pass. 3rd "climbed"/trekked up Thapa Peak to see Tsartse and to acclimatize. 4th through Dhampus Pass down to Hidden Valley to BC. Met no human beings on this trip. 7th went to Tashi Kang to 100m below summit as safest fastest way to get to Tsartse. Weather generally clear but always windy. Down to BC on 7th. 10th back to C1, 11th to Tashi Kang summit via SW Ridge. Saw that ridge connecting Tashi Kang to Tsartse was heavily corniced, so down West Face of Tashi Kang to col at 6177m between Tashi Kang and unnamed peak of 6403m north-northwest of Tashi Kang at 1:30 pm via SE Face of Peak 6403 on snow and ice only and back to Col, then down a face and went west to main valley west of Sandachhe. Waterfall blocked them, so slept in valley at about 5300m. 12th found an exit on left of waterfall and down to Hidden Valley and then South to BC. Meutzner left 15th because of knee problem and weather conditions. 15th Goetz and Lacatusu to C1 to try to climb Tsartse via three 6000m peaks, but Goetz Wiegand had stomach problem so night of 15th decided climb finished. 16th to BC.
