| Route Notes | BC 15/10 4960m ABC 23/10 5540m C1 24/10 5900m HPt 25/10 6300m by Lhakpa Nuru and Lhakpa Tamang (fixing ahead), Soren (at 6250m) and his 9 members approximately same height or lightly below, approximately at noon. Fixed rope: 900m through the rocks and snow/ice. Climbed Kwande Lo on the 19 Oct: Soren + 4 climbing Sherpas + 9 members. Summit time about 11 am, 11:45 am for last member. Very small summit. From 12 members, 3 members evacuated earlier on 14 and 15/10 (Raymond Smith had a fractured tibia; Neville Knuckey had abdominal issues, with his wife Jacquelene following him out). Hard to fix ice screws, hard blue ice in some places. Not secure with the group. Got snowed 1 day in BC after the summit attempt. Were completely alone on the south side of the mountain. Will try it again later. |
