| Route Notes | 1st attempt on 1 October by 4 climbers Fauquet, Fine, Martine and Potie reached 5500m and back to biv: steep ice wall encountered without sufficient equipment. 2 Oct Fine and Fauquet took 2 ice axes each in new biv at same altitude but after long traverse to right. 3 Oct Fine and Fauquet with no biv equipment got to just below top but stopped by big seracs, hard steep ice. Reached same biv at 8:00 pm. 4 Oct to BC and Thyangboche. No more food at bivouac so had to descend. LeCable not a climber and left BC to go to Thangboche early. |
