| Route Notes | BC at Jarkin (no village) south of summits on Kangchenjunga Glacier C1 at south side. Fixed rope from 5900m to 6100m on South Ridge. Moved together to top. Left C1 3:30 am and on top at 9:55 am and down to BC 3:30-4:00 pm. Not technically difficult but lower altitudes broken rocks like boulders. Fixed most of route on bare rock, but from 5900m to top good snow cover. Team arrived in Kathmandu 13 Oct, stayed at Malla Hotel; left 13 Oct for Biratnagar and Taplejung by air. Sherpa summiters: Tshering Dorje, 12/11/81, Chheskam VDC, Mamerku village, east of Bung, no 8000ers Gyalzen Sherpa, 23 years old, same village, no 8000ers |
