Route Notes BC 26/10 4700m at Dhaulagiri I basecamp Smt 28/10 by both members. "We had nonstop action during 11 days from Darbang to Darbang, like snails, carrying evetything. Just one porter helped us till Italian camp”. Reached Dhaulagiri I basecamp in 5 days, reaching it on October 26. On October 28 had a 18-hour climbing day, starting at midnight. "We climb up by the red line (70°/M5-6) and descended by ski the yellow line (55° in some parts)." Most expeditions used the same easiest route so far on Sita Chuchura: E Ridge from south side. The 1st ascent team (SITA-703-01) and 2nd ascent team (SITA-923-01) likely used the same lower part of the route, in the upper part the latter going towards harder conditions choose to avoiding the face by the right (50/60° slopes). Tosas route on the lower part likely lies further to the left (or more "southernly") to these successful teams, then in the final part joins either 1st or 2nd ascent team's same route. Down it likely uses the same route. Team left BC on October 30. Route: E Ridge from south, with a new variant/route in the lower part. Oxygen: Not taken, not used Records: possible first ascent of a new variant in the lower part of the route; first ski descent of the peak via the E Ridge from south. Fixed rope: None
