| Route Notes | BC at Himalchuli BC ABC at bottom of South Face C1 on South Face C2 on South Face C3 on South Face High point at South Face. From Himalchuli/P-2 BC: acclimatized up to Himalchuli C2 and back to BC. Then to P-2 climbing northwards to P-2 South Face in alpine style by 4 members. Waited in ABC because of snowfall and fog (could not see face). 16 May started up and to C1 at top of ice wall to point where face was clouded in snow. 17th bad weather and in very small tent (could not lie down in it). C2 in overhanging part of wall on 20th. 21st to C3. All the time weather bad and snow avalanching (not dangerous, but very inconvenient). 23rd to 5950m and stopped climb: bad weather, bad condition of face, bad campsites and time finished. Returned to C2 to sleep and BC 24th. |
