Route Notes BC at normal Annapurna South Face site ABC also in Annapurna Sanctuary C2 100m below Icefall (camp pitched but not slept in) High point at start of Icefall. Much snowafall: all members and Sherpas to C1 on 8 Dec but C2 made only on 12 Dec following 2 days (10-11 Dec) of snow fall. C2 made 100m below an icefall with many crevasses. Had no ladders and so did not go into icefall for; needed 5-7 ladders and had none at all. On 13th searched for alternate routes, but none found and all in ABC that day and 14th all to BC. 12th spent pitching C2 and looking for route forward: slept in C1; 13th up to C2 to bring it down. 1600m rope fixed between C1 and C2 in dangerous glacier.
