Route Notes Left KTM 17/10, Jeep from Nepalgunj to Dunai, Karkot rest day BC 25/10 4938m C1 28/10 5400m C1B 01/11 5700m C2 02/11 6602m Smt 03/11 by Kaltenbrunner, Kalkbrenner, Nima Shetpa at 1:45 pm and Bierling, Gfoellner, Pasang and Ngatar at 5 pm. Summit teams started from C2 at 9:10 am. Despite the favorable weather forecast it was very windy, but clear. They set out together, but Kaltenbrunner, Kalkbrenner and Nima Sherpa were soon ahead. The snow conditions were tricky as the tracks from the previous SST team were covered in snow and allowed for breaking in. First team reached the summit at 1:45 pm. The stayed about 10 mins on the top, but they did not have views due to white-out. On their way down, they met the second summit team at around 3:30 pm in high winds. They descended all the way to BC where they arrived at 7:45 pm. Second team spent about 5 mins in the summit. It was clear with very low temperatures of around -25C to -30C. They descended to C2 where they arrived at 9 pm. On 4/11 everyone down to BC. Carolin Kalkbrenner reached 5600m on 29/10. She did not feel up to going much higher which wasn’t really her intention. Jericha reached 5700m on 01/11. He did not sleep well at that altitude and had trouble breathing so he returned to BC on 02/11. Stiehler reached 6100m on 02/11. He did not feel strong enough to continue in the deteriorating weather and descended to BC the same day. No oxygen taken or used No fixed rope No accidents Left BC on 05/11, trekked to Juphal and arrived on 08/11.
