| Route Notes | BC 24/09 4940m C1 27/09 5480m (on moraine) C2 02/10 6038m Ca 03/10 6313m Smt 04/10 by Stitzinger, Keene, Kunga Sherpa, Thirendra Yakha at 1:30 pm. Summit team left C3 at 12:30 am. Weather was clear with a few gusts of wind. There was a lot of snow. The Sherpas were breaking trail and the snow was sometimes thigh deep. The steps did not stay firm. It was tough going. Minimal avalanche danger. Not a technical climb and it is certainly a skiable mountain. They spent about half an hour on the summit and descended to C3 where they arrived at about 5 pm. On 05/10 they descended to BC and left BC the next day. Fixed rope: Between C1 and C2 100m From shoulder to col (about 40 degrees) 50m From fore-summit to summit about 50m Oxygen: Taken and used from C2 to summit to C2 by Keene From C3 to top to C3 by Sherpas Stitzinger did not use oxygen. |
