Route Notes On 11 Oct, Schloeder developed bad cough at C1 and became weaker and weaker. He climbed down and went to closest village. Then returned to KTM on 16 Oct, where he waited for the team to return. Team got information on 11 Oct that a storm was coming [Cyclone Hudhud]. On 13 Oct, BC got 5 feet of snow. Team decided to abandon climb due to snow conditions and avalanche risk. Chuldim Sherpa went up to C1 to make trail, but snow was above his waist. Conditions were too cold to allow the snow to consolidate enough to allow climb to continue. Team left gear at C2 as well as equipment and staff at BC as it was too risky for them to leave BC and difficult to remove equipment as no porters or yaks could get above 4000m. Before the storm, conditions were good on the mountain. Little bit windy, perfect snow and good visibility.
