Route Notes Summit team left C3 at 4:30 am. Weather was good but cold and a lot of snow, so they had to break trail. Summit view fantastic. Derycke descended to BC, where he arrived at 5 pm. Pemba and Pasang also descended to BC. Rest of summit team descended to C1, where they arrived at 4 pm. Next day they dismantled C1 and descended to BC. Betinelli reached 6900m on 5 Nov. He turned back due to cold feet. He waited at C3 and descended to BC with Derycke. Syren reached C3 on 4 Nov but did not go for summit as he was was not feeling well. He stayed at C3 and descended to C1 with rest of group. On 6 Nov he started feeling very ill at BC. When they were descending to Kakot, Syren developed pulmonary oedema. They had to carry and short rope him to Kakot. It took them 12 hours from BC to Kakot and according to Edmundson and Syren nearly died on the trip. When they got to Kakot Syren was getting better. Next day they hired a horse for him and they walked out to Juphal.
