Route Notes Oct 29 Claire Fagart and Sophie Murat left C3 at 04:30 hours. Murat summited at 11:05 hours, stayed about 10 minutes, then to BC at 16:30 hours. Claire Fagart summited 11:15 hours stayed about 45 minutes, to BC at 20:00 hours. Catherine Fagart, Dennis Fagart and Didier Fagart left at 05:00 hours. Catherine Fagart summited at about 11:45 hours, returned to BC at 20:00 hours. Dennis and Didier Fagart returned from about 200m below the summit. Dimitri Fagart and Thalia Fagart left at 05:20 hours. Dimitri Fagart summited about 11:00 hours, Thalia Fagart summit 11:45 hours. Returned to BC all together. Sherpas: Sirdar Ongchu, Gyalbu (from Makalu) and Mingma. Clear day, windy and cold. Claire Fagart and Dimitri Fagart returned to KTM on Nov 5, rest of members on Nov 6. Left Nepal on Nov 6 evening. Source of above information Claire Fagart and Dimitri Fagart - 5 Nov 2000 Fax from Didier Fagart leader to Jeevan Shrestha on 11 Nov 2000: Base Camp was settled on the 17th October at 4900m, C1 at 5300m, C2 at 5900m and C3 at 6400m (C2 was not used for last attack, this camp being too close to C3 and so not worth sleeping one more night in altitude). On October 29th, the whole team, 7 members and 3 Sherpas, left C3 between 4:30 and 5:30 am towards the summit: 8 of them (5 members and 3 Sherpas) reached the summit around 11 am; one [Didier Fagart] had to stop 200m before the summit because of a beginning of cerebral edema and went down accompanied by another member [Dennis Fagart] (a doctor). The weather during the whole expedition was sunny, but the temperature got colder and colder.
