| Route Notes | BC at normal site High point in SE Face couloir. Poles sent 2 clients to clients to C1 on 3rd Nov which Poles had pitched before while they went with Marjan of Slovenian Nuptse team to help frostbitten Humar down to glacier to BC. Clients down to BC 4th Nov. 5th Nov 2 Poles to C1 with intention of pitching C2; checked fixed rope above C1 but 50m above same while crossing small couloir it avalanched under them (unconsolidated snow) and took Pawlowski 350m down and over 2 rock steps and landed in snow cone at bottom of couloir; he bruised but not seriously injured. Maselko managed to stop amongst rocks above first rock steop and not bruised; went up to C1 and brought new crampon and ice axe to Pawlowski and both descended to BC. Clients said they wanted to leave "so that was the end of that expedition." |
