| Route Notes | BC at normal site near lake. 6 May dumped loads at site for ABC and back to BC. Next day went to Everest BC "for a break" and Choong got altitude sickness and had to be carried to aid post at Periche by porters while most members stayed at Pumori BC. 10 May at Pumori BC made radio call to Hall on Everest summit 2:15 pm. As afternoon wore on, Cotter became involved in Everest communications. 11th Cotter to other New Zealanders went to Everest BC while 5 Malaysians stayed in Pumori BC for 2 more days, then to Everest BC as possible evacuation help, but not needed and left Everest BC to go home on 15th. |
