Route Notes BC slightly lower than normal site (used 4-walled roofless structure) C1 at rock spur C2 just below Col on East Ridge. With no Sherpas carrying loads, members who remained exhausted. Hornsburgh worried about frostbite in sensitive fingers. Down to BC on 26th. Smith wanted to try for top but neither Hornsburg or Barker ready to join him although Barker went back up with him to C1 and then stopped. First time in Himalaya for all members. Next time will have Sherpas to share the loads.
